Take part in the 2012 National STEM Video Game Challenge
Registration has officially opened for entries in the 2012 National STEM Video Game Challenge.
The National STEM Video Game Challenge aims to motivate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) learning by tapping into students' natural passion for playing and making video games.
The annual video game competition is accepting submissions from November 15 through March 12, 2012, of original video game concepts and designs from students and educators in four categories. The categories are:
- Middle School Category
- High School Category
- Collegiate Category
- Educator Category
There are also two new sub-categories being introduce this year that are PBS KIDS stream and the Sesame Street stream.
Winners of the Middle and High School Categories will receive prizes that include AMD-based laptops, game design software packages and other tools to geared to support their skill development. The winners of the Collegiate Category will be awarded a prize pool of $30,000 and the winners in the Educator Category will receive a prize pool of $40,000. These funds will be directed toward seed money, research, and marketing distribution to make your concept a reality.
